Liza Daly is a software engineer who specializes in applications for the publishing industry. She was the lead developer on major online products for Oxford University Press and has designed and engineered products for Columbia University Press, Rosen Publishing and SAGE Publications. Currently she is an independent consultant and the founder of threepress.

Bookworm is a platform for reading ePub-formatted ebooks online, and provides the truest rendering of the ePub standard of any reading system to date.
epubcheck validation service provides a web front-end and web services layer to the epubcheck tool.
tei2epub is a developer tool which converts from the rich academic TEI format to ePub.

Writing
Liza is a contributor to O'Reilly Media's Tools of Change publishing blog, focusing on document formats, ebooks and academic publishing. Read posts.
She also blogs for the TeleRead blog on subjects such as applying open source techniques to publishing.
In March of 2007, O’Reilly published her ebook Next-Generation Web Frameworks in Python, which covered three development platforms in Python including Django, which powers threepress.
Liza is also a regular technical editor for O'Reilly and has worked on several CSS and Python books, including CSS: The Definitive Guide, Python for Linux System Administrators and SQLAlchemy.
Advocacy
Liza is active in the open source technology community. She is on the advisory board for the Web 2.0 Expo NYC conference, to be held September 16-19, and also on the board for Tools of Change 2009, O'Reilly's digital publishing conference.
She is also a member of the Society for Scholarly Publishing.
